Crescent Potteries Mug — Sgraffito Dancer

A hand-painted mug from Crescent Potteries, marked on the base "A97, Hand Painted, Crescent" — the Krugersdorp pottery established in 1952, whose master potter Albrecht Schließler ("Mr. Crescent") designed over a hundred different items during his time there.

A striking sgraffito design — a dynamic, dancing figure carved through a dark slip to reveal the cream body beneath, set against a sunburst motif.
