Backstory

In 1942, Sir Thomas Cullinan bought the original studio outright and renamed it Linn Ware, continuing production with many of the same potters. The pottery became known for a distinctive double-glazing technique — most famously in deep green and turquoise, though also produced in russet, grey, cream, yellow, lilac, rhubarb, and mulberry.

This mug, in that hallmark turquoise, shows exactly the colourway Linn Ware is best remembered for — the one that made the double-glaze technique famous in the first place.
